Future learning Facilities – bridging formal and informal learning arenas with digital technology

Julie Kjær-Madsen

NB. Sesjonen er fulltegnet!

The research project; Future learning facilities’ is bridging formal and informal learning arenas. Different learning arenas are identified, materials are being developed based on the characteristics of each arena and they will be connected in a digital infrastructure. The Infrastructure will be established on the basis of the digital schoolbag. The visitor can connect his/her discoveries from the exhibition arena to the other arenas; the private arena, the school or media arena as well as the nomadic arena. The project also includes the realisation of the ultimate learning room supporting creative and innovative ways of working. One of the arenas – and the starting point for the project is Bitland. Bitland is a new exhibition in Danfoss universe opening the black box of digital technology. Digital technology is the basic theme throughout all the arenas, addressed in different ways.

In the new exhibition building in Danfoss Universe there is a workshop facility, offering the possibility to ‘construct’ with some of the insights from ones work in the exhibition. PICOCrickets gives the possibility to build and programme small simulations or machines based on sensors.

Julie Kjær-Madsen is Development Manager in Danfoss Universe – Learning.

She is project manager for ‘Future learning facilities, responsible for development of new learning and innovation concepts. She is also the connection between Universe Research Lab focussing on translating theory and research into practice.

Julie has a background as designer and has been working with play and learning for 14 years. Before joining Danfoss Universe she worked for LEGO as Director for Innovation and Learning.

Workshopen har begrenset antall plasser.
