The IMS Global Learning Consortium is seeking Contributing Member participation in the development of certifiable profiles of the IMS Question and Test Interoperability (QTI) v2.1 specification. In connection to completing the necessary interoperability demonstrations and conformance requirements, the QTI v2.1 project group is gathering interested IMS GLC Contributing Member organizations to help define a QTI profile that further refines the specification to enable exacting interoperability.
Many organizations worldwide use the QTI specification as a test publishing format as well as for delivering assessment content and results to learning systems. The QTI v2.1 specification offers further advantages and functionality than previous versions of the specification. Certifiable profiles of QTI v2.1 which will contribute greatly to the learning community. Organizations actively working on QTI v2.1 implementations include: ACT, ANGEL Learning, ETS, Pearson, and Respondus.
In an effort to ensure that Contributing Members see interoperability advantages accrue to as many communities worldwide as possible, and, of course, to IMS GLC Members and Subscribers who have made and are making the original investment in the work, we have created the IMS GLC Profile Registry. The registry is for all users of IMS GLC work to share their work around the globe, among, and across communities. The QTI v2.1 profiles will be made available in the registry and will follow the IMS GLC profile definition, registration, and maintenance procedures. Inclusion in the registry will support validation by product developers worldwide or on a community-specific or regional basis.
